Thankful Heart...

Fall, a time for all of the things that I love.. football, crisp air, carmel apples, pumpkins, cozy blankets and gathering together with friends. I think that the cooler weather causes us to slow down a bit, which in turn maybe gives us a bit of time to reflect on a few things.

I am grateful for growing up with a a great family. A mother who made every holiday magical. A home decorated for each season. My sister and I loved the anticipation of getting ready for each holiday. Thanksgiving with good food  & close family...Yummy cut-out sugar cookies which we helped decorate... my boys like that too. It's about traditions... they are very important to a family.
As time passes and our children are getting older...we are supposed to be getting wiser. I am not sure if that's true but, I do know one thing... I am just grateful. Everyday I am grateful for something..It might be something silly or it might be something big. But I believe a grateful heart brings powerful things to ones life.

This year I am so thankful for so many things.... my sons...my mother & sister...my business...my home..my faith...and most of all in this year of ups and downs... I am thankful for my friends.
Enjoy this time of Family and friendship.
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
Blessings~

HEADING UP THE COAST TO THE REMNANTS OF THE PAST....

I am so excited to load all of the amazing finds, that I have been collecting for the
Remnants of the Past Show, into the trailer. I will be heading up the coast to
set up my treasures at the end of the week. The unloading can be tough,
but the display, of course, is my favorite!
I will be bringing some wonderful things that I gathered on my Texas buying trip this Spring.
Along with my usual neutral palette, I will be featuring...statuary, chippy furniture, gilded mirrors, chandeliers & architectural salvage.

Featuring my custom cowgirl chic belt buckles & vintage belts. Each buckle is
made from antique and vintage repurposed jewelry and trinkets.
These are so cute that you will have a hard time picking just one...
At the last Remnants Fall Show, my line of jewlery sold out quickly....created by
my friend and Southern California Designer Erica H. We are prepared this show!
A beautiful assortment of jewelry is packed and ready, can't wait for you to see these beautiful pieces.

Oh, and did I mention that I can't wait to see some of the greatest dealers
and friends who will be selling there.
I hope you have made plans to head to San Luis Obispo, California
Saturday, June 2nd & Sunday, June 3rd.
Hope to see you there!

Coastal towns bring sun, fun and a few antiques!

What a fun weekend! After a very long couple of weeks, this was exactly what I needed.
It started in Cayucos with a sleep over at a beach house...

Complete with women who are good for the soul, wine, great food, lot's of gossip,
crazy amounts of laughter and ended with a little shopping.
We continued onto Cambria and had lunch at a great little restuarant
called Robin's where we all loved our lunch.

Kathy, Carrie, Susi, Sally & Lattice & I am behind the camera... Love this cute little town!
We decided to go see our friend and fellow dealer from the Speckled Hens Antique Show, Donna, at her newly relocated shop called The Hidden Gate Antiques. Stop by and say hello!
Every square inch of this little shop is filled with wonderful treasures!

After browsing thru this adorable shop and making a few purchases, we said goodbye
to Donna and headed down to a couple of my other favorite little shops.
There is something about the tranquility of this little garden located inside,
that finds me wanting to just stay! Love this place!
Needless to say, it was time to say goodbye to the girls and keep heading north...
I was meeting more good friends that evening for dinner and
very early morning of shopping at The Alameda Point Flea market!
Look at this view from the show... beautiful!

As always, I found some great treasures and saw friends who I only get to see occasionaly. It was an amazing weekend ...I am a pretty lucky girl, but I've already new that! I give that silent prayer of thanks quite often. Beautiful weather, great friends, antiques & family... what else matters?

TEXAS HAS MY HEART...

Texas may have my heart .... but I found some great things in that Lone Star State! What a great place. After a week of walking the fields of Preview week, we found some wonderful things to bring home. We packed the truck full and were almost out of money, so we decided it was time to head home!
Girls have to wear their boots while in Texas!
The old motel sign was amazing....
but it had an amazing price tag that went with it!
I have a terrible weakness for vintage horse show ribbons!
I just couldn't resist these creamy ribbons in all sizes...they are yummy!
We were working hard, but we took a moment to stop ad admire these beautiful animals. This cutie seemed to pose for the camera! This was one of my favorite moments of the whole week.
We had a wonderful time. I am already looking forward to our next buying trip...
Hhmm, maybe the next time we will head to the Midwest! Here we come mom!
